I became a loyal fan of Lloyd Polite some time last summer. I didn't pay him any mind when he first came on the scene with "Southside", but this young'n has definitely grown on me. I like his style ("long hair, don't care") and I'm really feeling his music. On his second album, his single "You" is what really peaked my curiosity. I headed straight to Itunes and listened to several clips on "Street Love" and was really surprised. I ended up buying the full album (usually I'll just buy a song or two) and played it on my Ipod everyday during my commute to and from work. "Certified" was one of my favorites- still listen to it to this very day. "Lessons In Love" is Lloyd's third album release. This time around Lloyd has a different, more mature sound. He's been compared to a younger, "less-weird" R. Kelly. The album is definitely a banger of quality sound and not the average mish-mosh we've gotten accustomed to. A few favorites of mine are "Treat U Good", "Heart Attack" and of course "Girls Around the World".
So, if you're into R&B like myself- check it out, I promise you won't be disappointed. Plus he's a cutie- a bonafide Honey Brown Homie! If you haven't already, PLEASE check out the "Girls Around the World" video here. His hair is jet black, shiny and gorgeous- in the video they show it both bone straight and curly. I need to find out who his stylist is because his hair is definitely on point (and we could all use some pointers!).
