First, I MUST give thanks to Scandalous Beauty for posting the tutorials. On Friday night, while listening to the debates I attempted to thread my eyebrows (I never thought this was possible to do). I watched the two tutorials SB mentioned in her post and from watching both only once I was able to grasp the concept (click here).Off to the bathroom mirror I went with thread in hand. I tore off a section, tied into a knot and went to work. At first, it felt a little awkward because I couldn't figure out how to position my hands and fingers. However, after a few minutes of struggling- I got it! I started above my left eyebrow first, for me the top was easier. I then moved below that eyebrow to clean up the stray hairs there. The only difficulty I had (which resulted in me tearing my skin slightly, yes: ouch!) was not being able to pull the skin taut as they have you do when you get threaded in a salon. That was a big problem for me, I'll have to figure out how to hold the skin tight so that next time I don't rip any skin.
I think within three months time, I'll have gotten this technique down to a science. It will definitely save me money and the anxiety of having them threaded too thin (which I hate!)... See my results below.
Are you going to give this a try? Its really not that difficult- If I can do it, I KNOW you can too (trust me).... Let me know how it goes.

Yay, so you did do it! It will definitely take some time and practice to get it right but it's great that you are kinda sorta getting the hang of it. I, on the other hand, will not try this b/c I reallly like the way my threading lady does my brows and don't want to mess up her work. ;)
Wow I commend you for doing this all on your own!!! I am like B I also love my threading lady. She's been working with me so that my brows get to the shape I want and I trust she won't make them tooooo skinny b/c I also hate that :)
Congrats on your new hobby :)
@ B & Bonafide Latina:
You guys are lucky to have someone whom you trust do your brows! I used to have one lady I trusted until she messed mine up, and that sort of sealed the deal for me. Since then, I've been plucking... Until now ;-)
congrats on giving it a go AND getting it down! it feels so good to find a diy method that you prefer. if i could cut out all of these middle men in my life, i would be happy... i guess i need to just sit down and try!
good job Wes! I am too scary to switch to threading... I have my girl who does a great waxing. My mother raves about her "thread lady", I guess if I do try it I would have to find the right person. Your brows look great, for your first attempt...
I havent even threaded them before. I ma give it a try.
babe your eyebrows look simply sedulous
but that loooks painful, is it
I haven't tried this and I can't say I will, but informative post though!
xo,
CC
@Torrance: Not really... I was focusing so much on getting it right I wasn't really paying attention
Its cool that you tried it out on yourself. I'm going to give it a try as well, I'm nervous though but learning is good, hopefully I can do it.
holy crap, I saw Scandalous' beauty's post but I just couldn't do it. I was too scared. you got guts girl! plus i love my lil cute indian threading girl. She's like 12 but can thread the heck out of my eyebrows. Hugs, DE
Your brows look great. But I'm too chicken to try it myself.
Wow, I'm glad you were the guinea pig! I've been contemplating trying it myself, but I was chicken. Thanks to you, I feel confident enough to try it. I will let you know how it turns out. You rock!
I've been trying since I read the post on SB and I still can't get it quite right. Congrats on the Success!
I really didn't like threading... it hurt like nothing I ever felt before. Congrats for learning how to do it yourself!
I'm amazed that I tried it myself!!! I had a few random hairs growing in, so I figured as long as I stay clear of the arch, I'm good. Let me tell you, once I got it, I was addicted. I was so proud of myself! But yeah, I think I'll leave it to my girl Daisy. It was too tedious for me! Thanks for the link love!
wonderful! i'll have to give it a try this wk/end. i love my threading lady, but this will def come in handy when funds are low (um..like right now...)!
good job for your first try! thanks for the link.
Girl you are better than me!!! I'm scared to even pluck my own...(shush ;-p) LOL. I need to find a place close to me that threads though...it would be much better than waxing, I know.
wow you are brave! i'm super OCD with my brows...I dont think i could get that down. but one thing's for sure...cant no one beat me in the tweezing game! lol.... great job!
I have been hearing about threading a lot lately. I need to try this.
I'm not really a fan of threading but I give you major props for trying it!
wow your brows look great!!
I bought a used iPhone 3G jailbroken (and I don't have at&t) and tried to restore it via itunes in order to sync my music. Now my iphone is stuck on a screen that says "slide for emergency" and I don't know how to get out of this. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I really would like to know because I've seen on other sites it has been but on others its saying it will be released July 11th 2008. Also, do you have to activate the iPhone when you get it or can you just use what else is on there like the Safari, Youtube, etc. I do also have Wi-Fi Connection at my home. Please reply. Thank You!
