Hello All,
My name is Jasmin Meyers. On behalf of ‘The 2fifty Seven Group’, I am organizing a clothing donation for those affected by the recent hurricanes (Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Fay) in Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country (financially) in the western hemisphere and shares the island of Hispaniola with The Dominican Republic. As many of you know the majority of Haitians on “good weather days” have limited access to the basic human needs: food, water, shelter, and clothing. The impact of the recent storms has killed many and devastated, already fragile communities, leaving families without the resources and support they need. We, ‘The 2fifty Seven Group’ are working in conjunction with The Evangelical Crusade Church of Brooklyn, in association with the Haitian Consulate of New York to send clothing to Haiti. The clothing is sent to the Office of Civil Protection in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and distributed to the areas that have been the most devastated. Please join us by donating any lightly used and cleaned (dry cleaning not required) clothing. All types of clothing are accepted (men, women and children’s clothing). Wools and winter clothing are not accepted. However, sweatshirts, denim, light weight jackets and long sleeve t-shirts are welcomed. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, Jasmin Meyers at jmeyers@2fiftyseven.com or (646) 925-9082 for information about pick-ups or drop-offs in Brooklyn or Manhattan. You may also contact Kristi Henderson at kristihenderson@2fiftyseven.com.The deadline to donate clothing is Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Thank you for your participation!
Best,
