Hot Sauce and Hair?

Saturday was a very busy day for me. Two dinner parties, no outfits planned and hair that was a mess. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? With little to almost no time to do something with the mop that had formed on my head I decided to straighten it for the night (and for the rest of the week). This was probably the quickest I've ever straightened my hair. I did it in about an hour and a half. 15 minutes to co-wash & detangle, 1/2 hour to blow dry and about 45 minutes to flat iron.

When straightening my hair, I usually use the Mizani Thermasmooth system. I really didn't have time to use it this time and decided to try something different. Since interviewing celebrity stylist, Ursula Stephen (think; Rihanna) I've been anxiously waiting to get my hands on this FHI Heat Hot Sauce. What I liked most about this product is that it doesn't contain silicones. It is infused with jojoba crystals that are heat-activated to help restore and moisturize the hair during the drying process.

The directions on the bottle state that after shampooing and conditioning, apply a small amount to damp hair. I applied about a dime sized amount to each section of hair I blow dried (about 5 or 6 sections). Afterwards, I proceeded to flat iron and curl (with a large barrel curling iron). Finishing off with Mizani's Spradiance High Gloss serum.

Many of you had some reservations concerning the Thermasmooth system because of the price. The FHI Heat Hot Sauce works just as well at a much lower price (2 oz. $11.95, *remember: a little goes a long way) and can be found online at beautychoice.com.

I can't find this ANYWHERE. I've looked in the BX, in the Heights, at Ricky's...I may just order it online.

Thanks for this post. I need this and a new flat iron in my life.

Wes!
Can you detail your blowdrying technique? Your roots look ridiculously straight. Whenever I blow dry, I cannot get my roots that straight. Are you using a round brush and concentrator nozzle? Just a comb attachment?
I want to know from start to finish how you're getting ALL of your hair to lay like that!

The deva trim you got a couple of weeks ago looks like it really works straight and curly. Are you happy with the way it looks straight?

Hey girls! I just brought it and gave it to my hair stylists shappo assistant to use on my hair before I got in her chair. I am a true victim of the excessive flat ironing syndrome and I was so please to know that I am finally snapping into the reality that is although flat irons make your hair very pretty, they're not all that good. So it's great to have....Plus Ursula Stephen said so!!!
