Makeup: Less is Best

I don't like foundation. Perhaps if I found a perfect match in the perfect shade I would. It seems that whenever I find one that I think is close, it really isn't. I've recently decided to settle for less- less makeup that is. I still use concealer when needed, a great moisturizer (preferably one that helps decrease shine) and last but not least (after applying the works: eyeshadow, blush, lip gloss, etc.) I set with MAC's Fix+, this stuff is GREAT. I used it for the first time in this capacity (without foundation) one day on my way to work. I didn't think anything of it- I applied my mascara, brow finisher, a little blush and some lip gloss. I spritzed the Fix+ on my face as I rushed out the door. Once I was at work, I glanced in the mirror and noticed how smooth and even my skin looked (like I was wearing powder or a medium coverage foundation).
If you're like me and can't stand fussing with foundation/powder you might want to give this a try. A little goes a verrrrrry long way- you'll only need one good spritz.
Price: $16.00

Another great, cheaper alternative to try is the Evian Brumisateur. It feels great in the summer and especially after working out. The best part is that the facial spray works well to set makeup. I keep one in my purse to help refresh my face throughout a stressful day.
Price: $5.50 for 50ml
Have you tried either of these? What's your "less is best" makeup tip? Please share!

Hey chica, I don't like foundation either. A little concealer and blush and I'm good to go. I love love love Fix + and Evian's Brumisateur! Especially during the middle of the day for a quick pick me up. :)

I also keep the Evian spritz in my purse. I haven't tried the Mac Fix, but I'm all over it next time I go to the MAC store!

Good post! Thanks for the tip!

I've never used anything like that with the fear that it will make my already oily skin look extra oily. Did it make you look oily??

About a month ago, I ditched my foundation. I liked it alright, but my skin felt greasy midday and you know how skin tone changes with the seasons.

Now I just moisturize and apply Philosophy's The Present "Clear Makeup". You can use it as a primer for your foundation or wear it alone. I chose the latter.

I really feel like I have an airbrushed look and my skin isn't as oily by the end of the day. My other makeup goes well over it, too. I might keep a lil concealer just for trouble spots.

I'm not into that much make-up either . I could never give eyeshadow tutorials, lol. I'll try that make-up fix though.

This sounds like a great idea Wes...thanks for it. Just curious, what concealer do you use? I've actually never used concealer since I only use Bare Escentuals...but lately I've wanted to use a concealer for when I dont get enough sleep and my eyes start looking dark or blahhhh...any suggestions?

girl i love fix plus...i use it on all my clients...especially if they have powder or foundation on it makes them look dewy instead of cakey, loves it!

I hate foundation too!! I just got the Evian one as a sample. I haven't tried it yet, but I can't wait to now!

Thanks!

I use the Evian spritz

@Miss B: No, it doesn't make my face oily, like Ren said it gives you a "dewy" look

@Bourgieadventures: I'll be keeping my eye out for that "clear makeup"

@Bonafide Latina: I don't really use it often but if I've got dark circles under my eyes I use a little bit of the MAC moisture concealer.

Where can you purchase the Evian? I have the spritz from Lumene and it works very well for me.
