Pantene Results!

I was extremely pleased with my results! The curls stayed soft throughout the day and looked just as good the next day.Although, I had received mixed reactions in the comment section. The number one thing I've learned through blogging and reading other blogs is that what works for someone else may not work for me. A few of you claim to have bad results from using the Pantene R&N, that very well could be the case but you also have to look at the entire picture as a whole- the condition of your hair (was it colored, relaxed, transitioning, etc.), was it dry or brittle? and last not but not least, were you caring for your hair the way it needed to be cared for? Based on my own personal experiences, I have never experienced hair loss (and I've done some pretty rough stuff to my hair over the years)- thank God! The worst it's ever been was when I decided to do highlights using African Pride's kit. I was living in the dorms, I washed the bleach out in the sink of our laundry room and never ~not once~ did I deep condition!!! Afterwards, I proceeded to blow dry and flat iron. Back then, I thought a serving of Razac would cure everything. Luckily, my hair didn't break off but it felt like hay and I know I must've had a ridiculous amount of split ends.
I say all of this to say that once again what works for me may not work for everyone else.

What really persuaded me to retry the Pantene R&N came to me after stalking Teri's blog; biracialhair.org. Her curls are very similar to mine, although her hair type is slightly different (*please note that her hair is past her waist!). Therefore, if her favorite conditioner is Pantene R&N, then I'm definitely willing to give it a go ;-)

Also, if you're ever in doubt of any ingredients of a certain product, definitely check out her thorough list of ingredients. She has everything coded by noting how you should proceed: avoid, caution, okay, and good. Like I previously mentioned, most of the products that you think are bad aren't really that bad.
Find what works for you and WORK it!! (Until you find something better ;-)

Totally agree and you hair looks FAB!

Did you leave the conditioner in/comb it like she suggests on her website? Or did you wash it out and add in other products?

So, is that the only thing you used to style your hair in this picture? Or did you use other products?

When I was a DIY girl I used the whole Pantene R&N line for my hair & I loved it. I was actually thinking about taking it to the salon w/ me when I go and try it out for a few months to see if I notice a diff between salon shampoo and conditioner vs Pantene.

But I'm glad u like the results and ur curls look nice :)

Your hair looks great! It looks soft and smooth. I know other people asked the same question but I'm also curious: Did you only use the Pantene natural and relaxed conditioner as your only styling product? Or did you use it as a leave-in and layered another product over it?

Hey guys- I only used the conditioner to style, that was it! I don't like to put too much product in my hair in order to avoid build up. The PR&N gets really frothy while you work it through your wet hair, but don't be alarmed b/c it will disappear as it dries.

Hmmmm... R&N wasn't on my list of must try's from her site but now that you're having good results with it I may just give it a go.

I've always used Pantene shampoo and conditioner on my relaxed hair. It works wonders on my hair. It always leaves it soft and manageable and reduces my split ends. It works well on my children's hair also. They also have a better grade of hair than I do.

I really love R&N conditioner, I just always forget about it, and I always get swayed by other conditioners (like the Herbal Essences, etc.) that have such sweet smells. I am a sucker to a sweet fruity conditioner!

I had to laugh at your African Pride Highlights kit because when I was a freshman in college I did those kits like 3 times, def no deep conditioner, my hair was relaxed back then AND I flat ironed. It was a miracle I even had one single strand of hair left after that year. I am so glad I have seen the light and I am not taking the time to really care for my 100% natural tresses....BTW LOVE YOUR BLOG!!

One... the hair's gorgeous, per usual.

Two... I don't remember how my hair reacted to the R&N, but I remember it absolutely loving the shampoo, which, odd or not, seemed to really quench my hair's thirst when I first used it.

And three... not African Pride! That was freshman year for me too -- only I didn't use it. I did, however, watch all my girlfriends put it in each others' hair... and weeks later they were all complaining of dryness and breakage! So glad I opted out of that one.
