The Knots... OUT

The curls were very tight (it looked like I chopped off a few inches)! I actually liked them better on the 2nd day, after they dropped a little. The real test was going to the gym- I put on a headband and threw the curls up into a ponytail. When I took the ponytail down the curls were still in place, just a little looser.
.
The frizz factor is not a problem either. I actually don't mind the slight frizziness because it makes the curls a look a little more bouncier and less perfect.

Day 1

Day 2
(taken with my Blackberry, please excuse the haziness)

Your hair looks absolutely wonderful here. How many knots did you do? And did you twist them and then knot them like CN, or did you just make them into a knot?

@ Summer, I did about 17 "buns". I didn't twist them first, I just took one section and twisted into a tiny little bun, and clipped into place with a metal clip. I didn't do them tight. The way I did it was more like a pin curl, rather than a "knot". I knew I should've taken pics! ...Next time :-/

I LOVE it. I can't wait for my hair to get out of this TWA stage. I'm so happy I got rid of the perm. There are so many options with natural hair.

Thanks guys- I use Infusium 23 with equal parts water in my spray bottle (to keep the hair wet), and Pantene Relaxed & Natural conditioner (as a leave in). I noticed it was a little dry today after I came from the gym so I moisturized with a little coconut oil.

@JeniusJ: I usually get my Henna from a small shop on 28th and Lexington.

i am absolutely in love with your results! everyone's knots has their own little style to them, i love it! but i have a question, if you didn't two strand twist, exactly how did you form your knot? I know you mentioned it doing it more like a pin curl, but were they tight? were they overlapping? i'm a complete newbie at this type of thing but i'd love to try and get my next set of knots to be similar to this look.

i didn't realize you could get such curly curls from bantu knots without your hair being straight first. lov-er-ly!!
