Remember the time... Michael Jackson

The sudden news of Michael Jackson's passing broke my heart. For as long as I can remember I knew and loved MJ. I can remember my mother getting me ready for pre-school in the morning and playing "Beat It" for me to dance around to. I had two MJ dolls to accompany my Barbies. I remember the mouse he loved in the movie about his life. I remember the world premiere of "Remember the Time" on Fox 5. And I remember talking about it in my sixth grade math class the next day, all the girls thought he was a cutie pie. I remember my sister and I comically emulating the "Rock with You" choreography. In high school, we both practiced dropping on our knees as him and Janet did in the "Scream" video.... Good times indeed.

I can remember nothing but good ol' times attached to those MJ songs... Even in college, in my very first car- a 2 door Chevy Cavalier, I was bumping "You Rock My World"...

But I won't be sad, I will be celebrating a life WELL lived instead.

Which songs trigger "good time" memories for you? I wanna know!

"You will always be the Lady in my life"
That has to be one of the most beautiful songs he's ever wrote. I want to play it at my wedding.
RIP Michael

Ugh. I'm so sad. It feels like I lost a family member. I remember my mom and grandma introducing us to the Jackson 5, and I remember her playing Man In The Mirror over and over. I remember being scared of the Thriller video as a little kid. Lol. I remember going crazy when the Bad video came out. I have a five year old son now, and he likes it when I play PTY. Just yesterday he asked me to play it and let him sing, because he knew all the lyrics. He will truly be missed. Without a doubt, the greatest of all time.

I'm so glad you made this post! MJ lives on forever! My favorite songs are too many, including the Jacksons/Jackson 5 hits. Some songs include Speed Demon (awesome video), Leave Me Alone, Off Th Wall, ENjoy Yourself, and the list goes on. I can be here all night lol.

RIP Michael Jackson. He lives on forever in his music and those he has helped and influenced throughout his short lived life. That's what makes him a great person, not just his talents, but his warm heart!

The Jacksons' Blame It on the Boogie/Do What You Wanna 45 was the first record I ever asked (ok, begged) for to play on my Mickey Mouse record player. My first full-length record was Thriller and I played it so much I drove my mom nuts. I, like many other girls my age, was IN LOVE with Michael and so much of my childhood includes his music. I Can't Help It (OTW) is one of my many favorites but there are too many too name. Rushing home to catch the premieres of the Thriller and Bad videos (Friday Night Videos was the ish) so I could talk about how cool it was on the school bus the next Monday, teaching myself to moonwalk and spin, trying to hold myself up on my tiptoes.....all great memories. He was a genius who was a blessing to this world musically and philanthropically and I hope he truly rests in peace.

My favorite song..geezz..I can't think of one favorite..But one that I remember always is SCREAM. When that video deputed on tv, it was like a historic event! LOL. Everyone in my house gathered around our tv to watch it..we all watched in silence...until it was over..and we went crazy!

Michael Jackson was and will ALWAYS be a Legend. I have to say that yesterday was one of the saddest days...it was such a sudden and tragic passing..MJ you'll forever be missed.

My very first car was a 1985 BMW (believe me, in 2000 that's really not as fancy as it sounds, lol). And I would blast PYT and Man in the Mirror with all the windows down and the sunroof rolled back (I swear that crank would give me a work out. It's probably why I had nice arms back then, lol).

I have so many favorites. I remember being 3yrs old and seeing Say, Say, Say for the first time...it came out right before Thriller did. Him and Paul McCartney in that video together. And I remember falling inlove right then. I dont remember much from that young age, but I remember that! And receiving my Michael Jackson doll (Ken like) for Christmas the year of 1984. I still have it, but without the pants, white socks, glove and shoes. It still has the red and gold sparkly shirt lol.

I hate that he passed with all the stress from the negativity. All he wanted was love and for every one to be happy. Especially the children of the world.
I couldn't even imagine living in the world that he lived every day. Definitely no way to live normally.
It took great strength to endure what he did.

I love him and wish the media would focus on the positive instead of the negative things and still talking about that darn trail in which charges were dropped. I would have paid folks off too to be thru with it, which is what he wanted. He didn't want it to keep going on for years.
