Say It Ain't So... Vibe Magazine Closes Down

First, my dear Michael and now this... Seems like everything from my adolescent years are slowly fading away. I know the times change but man, this SUCKS. Vibe magazine officially closed it doors today, June 30, 2009 (click here to read a letter from CEO Steve Aaron).

Back down memory lane (again!): I remember I used to buy EVERY copy of Vibe back in my high school days. When Bad Boy and Death Row had covers... I had the copy of Biggie and Faith in the car, the one with Tupac and the other Death Row rappers, amongst many others. To be completely honest, Vibe is the ONLY magazine I still read TODAY. I generally browse blogs now to quench my entertainment thirst.

RIP Vibe... You will truly be missed.

VIBE is one of my top magazines. I became a collector back in the 90's along with collecting Right On and Word Up...then it I added on VIBE, Honey and The Source.

I had to throw many away (my stepdad was a hater! he always complained that it was a fire hazard...whatever!) but I did keep all of the important ones. I still have the "larger" Vibes...before they downscaled the size of the magazine. The unique look of VIBE was the over large size...

It will forever be missed!!

To tell you the truth it was going downhill for a while now. It was better back in the day, recently it was mostly ads and not much substance.

i agree with ANON... This magazine is nothing but ads... it's been watered down for years... Either way their covers were always the jam... My favoritie is still JODECI with Devonte and the rose in his teeth...lol I have Luther, Lefteye, and AAliyahs rememberance mags too... Either way... life is such.. all good things come to a halt sometimes...
