Re-Post: HBS "Wash & Go" Vid

For those who may have missed it the first time... Enjoy!

HBS:
Congratulations on the completion of your first "how-to" video! So tell us, how'd you do it?

Wes: Well, it wasn't hard at all. After much prodding by my wonderful/incredible readers I decided to give the people what they want; a quick tutorial on my usual "Wash & Go" routine. I've come to understand that no matter how many times I describe something, there's nothing like having a good ol' visual.

**Ok yeah, that was a brief interview with mySELF. Anyways, without any further ado below is the first HBS video EVER! (It's amazing what a little unemployment can do for a girl ;-)

video

Was this helpful? Do you think I should do more? Tell me!

I love this technique however it just doesn't work on my hair texture. But it looks GREAT on you!

Yes, this was very helpful particularly adding clips for volume. I will have to try this. BTW keep the videos coming! It's so exciting to see a new face making videos for naturals!

I will definitely try this out, since the leaving in conditioner alone thing never really works. I never tried the separating clumps and will try now. THANKS!

i'm glad i finally got to see it. the video wasn't working at my work computer, booo!

great vid! seeing how you do it versus reading it really makes a difference. great editing job, lighting and focus! like bonafidelatina, i liked how you were serious throughout the tutorial, then flashed a smile at the end, haha!

can't wait to see more!

I'm glad the conditioner only method works 4 u lol. Ur hair turned out fierce. You don't shed like crazy fom doing this method??? I tried that method a few timez b4 and everytime my hair just got waaay overconditioned =/ (meaning extremely soft, brittle and lots of breakage that took weeks to recover from).
I wanna c more videos though!! That was so cool and to the point! Great job!

That's exactly what I was missing when trying the Terri method, SCRUNCHING PART, lol. Thank you so much for this vid. Are you gonna get up on youtube anytime soon? This was great. :)

Just tried Aussie last night, used my denman to seperate, seperated clumps, and I LOVE IT! I am in LOVE with my curls, the smell of my hair, everything! So glad to have tried it! Thanks Wes!

This looks like something from the "mixed chicks" video. Nothing unique. Besides, your hair is not natural!!!

Anonymous said...

Im transitioning and have been scared about how my hair will look with a wash and go and this video was sooooo helpful! I was wondering how ppls parts were so nice and layed out...I didnt think to use clips...thanks again!

To the above Anonymous comment, you clearly know NOTHING about natural hair because if you did you would know that natural and curly hair IS unique and it comes in a variety of textures. Wes' hair is GORGEOUS and NATURAL, so stop being a hater and take your negativity elsewhere! I loved the video Wes, keep them coming :o)

Thank you so much for re-posting. It was very helpful!! Definitely do more videos!

Yeah, I liked it. You should do more. It was helpful. That was Terri's method, right?

AlexandraB said...

Thanks for the tutorial! Hmm I might have to make a trip to Sally's for that Denman. Loved the video! Very instructive and I think using clips for volume is brilliant! One question...do you have any recommendations for a conditioner that isn't tested on animals?

K.D. said...

I agree! Keep the videos coming! You have such pretty curls. :-)
