If there was one thing I had to do today it was to view MJ's Memorial Service (and DVR'd it too)- I sat down front of my TV at exactly 1pm. I've never, ever wept over any celebrity figure's death, but to me, Mike wasn't just any ol' celebrity. As soon as J-Hud began singing, the floodgates opened wide. Usher also had me bawling like a baby, then with the closing of little Paris on the mic, I was just overwhelmed with emotion. I even had a headache! It all just made me realize how through his music, Michael touched us all. His music has been the soundtrack of my life and so many others. I can literally chronicle my life thus far based on his music alone. The passing of MJ has brought the world together, even if only for a moment.
My dear Mike will truly be missed.

Me too, girl.
Me too.
I miss him and I wasn't even a die hard fan. He was such a great person and I think we can all learn a lot from his non-judgemental and accepting spirit. RIP MJ.
He will definitely be missed. Yesterday's memorial service was awesome.
I was sad throughout the whole thing, and like you I've never cried over any celebrity's death until now. I started crying when Jermaine went up and started singing "Smile" and then I lost it when they started singing "Heal the World" with all of the children.... Niagara Falls had nothing on me lol. The memorial was sad but it was beautiful- VERY well put together... unlike the BET awards. I just can't believe he's gone. I have such fond memories of dancing to his music when I was a little girl... he will be missed.
