SugarCube: Aloe Vera- Earth's Conditioner

Extra special thanks to Shelley for the following SugarCube post!!:

As the owner of Naturi Beauty Concepts, I take natural hair care very seriously. My products inspire our most beautiful and healthy selves inside and out. Influenced by nature's gifts, one of my favorite ingredients for natural hair care is aloe vera. This prickly, fleshy, succulent plant is a wonder. Packed with a gelatinous core, aloe vera gel promotes essential moisture, reduced hair loss and serves as an excellent conditioner.

This past weekend, my hair was in need of some serious TLC. Between the heat and my event filled summer there was little time for my usual weekly maintenance, leaving me with brittle and dry hair. Trust me, the sun and lack of rest can do a serious job on your curls! So I devised a plan to bring it back to life. Here is the secret.....

1 Aloe leaf (cut in half and inside scooped out)

3 spoon fulls of aloe butter or shea butter (http://www.essentialwholesale.com/)

1 TB olive oil

2 TB honey

4 drops of ylang ylang essential oil

5 drops of geranium

4 drops of rosemary

Blend all ingredients, use as conditioner or combine with your favorite deep conditioner and put on shower cap for 20-30 min. I use a steamer because it concentrates moisture in hair but you may use a regular hooded dryer or wrap towel over shower cap to concentrate heat.
