I have one! Is there anyone out there who has acne-prone skin that has found a great moisturizer that will make their dry ends shine without causing a breakout??

Seems that I only come across two types of hair moisturizer: crap that doesn't actually moisturize and stuff that irritates my skin. LOL. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated - thanks!

I have the same problem! Have you tried using extra-virgin olive oil? That is the only sealant that I have used that doesn't irritate the heck out of my neck and face.

Raw unrefined shea butter, mixed with olive oil. It is also good for the skin, so I noticed when I mosturized with this, it doesnt irritate my skin because it is also a good mosturizer I use at night on my face. hope this helped!

What moisturizers have u already tried??? Some other tips are making sure ur hair is off ur face; keep ur face off ur pillowcase, i actually place a lil cloth under my face so it doesnt touch the pillow; make sure u wash/replace the case at least every week; wash ur face AFTER u wash ur hair... suds, oils, residue can be run down ur face; along wit tryin not to touch ur face and/or ur hair etc...etc

Like the other ladies said a raw shea butter mix on the ends is nice, play around with which oils ud like to add, if any at all. Jojoba, coconut, olive are good, jus dont make the mix too oily. I also like elasta qp mango butter pomade, SheaMoisture leave in(ready-made shea mix) or Giovanni direct leave-in

have you tried castor oil? it's very moisturizing to the hair yet doesn't irritate my skin at all. in fact, some people use castor oil combined with olive oil to cleanse the skin on their face.

Can anyone tell me how to condition my hair with avocado? I tried last weekend and it didn't work out very well.. lol..

i have the same problem. i just started using shea butter but have heard alot of good stuff about castor oil. is it only available online or do you think they would have it at an international food store??

to be honest, i have only ever tried store/manufactured products to moisturize. I have used oils to pre-poo/deep-condition, but I've never tried them to simply moisturize. I always thought they'd be too, well, oily and drippy as a leave-in, and would cause me more break-outs.

btw...i change my pillow cases regularly, keep my hands outta my face and all that. in fact, my skin is usually clear...until i put moisturizer in my hair. :(

but it seems like some of u have gotten good results w/the shea butter/olive oil combo, so i'll give it a try! i also keep hearing about elasta qp, so i'm gonna look out for it.

sometimes my scalp gets so itchy, and my ends are always dry - even just after a trim. but i haven't really been moisturizing lately because my skin is so sensitive - and it's driving me crazy. i really appreciate the suggestions.

i've never tried castor oil (am afraid of the smell), but i've been thinking about getting some Jamaican Black Castor Oil for treatments, because i've heard good things about it being a growth aid.

yea Jamaican blk castor oil has a reaaally strong smell. But i have used it for my hot oil treatments a few times and my hair is left much softer. Ive really noticed a difference, especially on my ends. I cant get past the smell tho, so i dont use it very often. Plus i think putting castor oil on ur hair still has a slight classic castor oil effect on ur body, tmi i kno.

Ive found jamaican blk castor oil at a neighborhood bss. It wasnt the sams247 brand, but its still been great for hot oil treatments.
