Sooo I pre-treated, washed, and conditioned my hair last night then began the tedious task of roller setting my hair. I began the entire process at exactly 8:15pm and did not completely finish (drying, removing rollers, touching up "edges") until about 12:30am.Let me just tell you: Roller setting my hair FRUSTRATES the hell out of me! I began the process of setting at 9:08pm and finished at 10:30pm. I love the results it yields but the journey (yes: journey!) it takes to get there is a trying one indeed! You HAVE to have patience. My arms start to hurt, my hair is almost dry by the time I'm half way through plus wrapping curly hair on a large roller isn't easy.
I'm just glad its over. I'm headed to St. Lucia next Thursday so I won't be setting my hair again ANY time soon. Wash & go's all the way in that tropical climate!
Oh the things we go through to be beautiful...
What's your number #1 hair rant?

Aside from the time consuming & tedious labor, your roller set was a success! The end result looks amazing! Great job!
My hair rant always has been & always will be how tangled my hair gets when I shampoo it myself.
Your hair looks gorgeous though...if you rollerset it, how long do you go before washing it again? Does it make for shorter hair time in the days following?
What did you use to set your hair?
Products?
Tools?
My hair isn't long, but it's super thick, so i have the same rant that you do... too tedious to be involved. i am loving my 2 day old wash n go's though. Came in handy while in Denmark.
I think I am getting lazy. I have been transitioning for 11 months. And I swear I tired of every style imaginable. I was doing briadouts consistently for like 3 months straight after bunning for 2 months. I recently have been sporting a roller set. Oh, if i can just hold off a little sooner. Not ready to BC yet.
I just recently started wearing mine out...DH hates (and im SO sincere) my 1 yr and 1 month old natural hair. No bushes for me. Tried to straighten and my hair just looks limp :-/ You hair looks amazing. Have fun in St. Lucia!
lol...that's why I haven't rollerset in 6 months. I love the results, but DAG how long does it take to get there? Our hair is about the same length/thickness, so I feel your 1.5 hour pain...I thought I was the only one who took forever to set!
It used to bother me a lot more, but when I blow dry my hair, my wrist hurts like hell afterward.
Yeah I sit in my rollers all day, that ish is a process, still came out cute tho
It looks great!!. You did a very good job.I'm going to attempt to do mine today, I'm tired of these twist so I want to try something different. What products did you use?
Have fun on your trip and bring back some of that warm weather to us here in NYC
As much as i love my hair, i would
have to say my rant is next day hair.
When i wake up in the morning, i get irritated with having to fluff my hair because it becomes really flat! UGH!
My hair rant is that it takes over 24 hrs for my hair to air dry when I rollerset it. No matter how much time I give it, I always end up having to blow dry some soggy sections. My hair holds water like nobody's business.
I'm frustrated that my rollersets never even last 2 hours. All that time and effort smh.
My #1 rant is detangling. Roller setting is #2 on my list. Your hair looks great so I am sure it is worth the effort!
Your hair is gorgeous...I think the time consuming part is the reason why I haven't tried a roller set since I've been natural.
My 1 hair rant is that no matter what I do, I can never get 2nd day hair on any style! not twistouts, braidouts, flat twistouts, coilouts...I always have to re-braid,twist,flattwist,or coil. It's so frustrating
My #1 Hair rant is sitting under a hood dryer! ARGH!! I am not in transition I wear wash & set & wraps by the way of Dominican Hair Salons and have not mastered roller setting on my own. I take a min of 1 hour to dry and I can not stand sitting under the dryer....
My #1 hair rant is having to put a black rinse in my hair every two weeks to hide my grey strands. The rinse is messy and I somehow manage to get it on my fingers even when I wear gloves. But I am not giving it up just yet. At 43 I am not ready to have a head of white hair.
Staci
I totally agree roller setting takes way too long. I sometimes get all motivated and by the time I really get into it I am like 4get it. Your hair does look great btw...
I keep telling myself end results...end results. That doesn't work either. It really is a long process
I know all of that work must have been worth it! ;) The process is tedious, and if you have thick hair - you'll be under the dryer for ever! LOL.
I guess my hair rant is probably the way my hair look if I don't sleep w/ a silk/satin scarf or pillowcase at night. It's a mess in the morning and usually requires me to re-style, etc...ugh! LOL :)
Your journey is the reason I will never go back to long hair (unless I decide to go natural), not to mention, I hate sitting under the dryer.
My number one hair rant is my hair grows so fast, that I have to get a haircut sometimes once a week in order to maintain the style.
