I'm Back!

But not glad to be... However, HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! I had a BALL in St. Lucia, the weather was perfect and even when it rained it happened over night and lasted about 5 minutes. During my trip I had a true local experience: No tv, no cell, no computer/internet- Life was soooooo simple! Cold showers, roosters crowing and dogs barking all hours of the night, goats grazing on every corner. I enjoyed fruits I never knew existed. The front door stayed open (wide!) while the next door neighbor would come by and cook us fish stew for dinner. I've always wondered if I could live in another country and let me say I would move there in a heartbeat. During those few days I really felt like this is the way people should be living. My mind wasn't being polluted with crime on tv and sex in videos, shoot most of the time I didn't even know the time!
But all GOOD things must come to an end. I loved every minute and am already planning on my return ;-)

Because of the humidity in the air, my hair was extra BIG. I washed and conditioned with my favorite vacation shampoo and conditioner: the Organix Coconut Milk line. I always bring this set along with me whenever I travel... Something about coconut and balmy warm weather excites my senses.

To style, I applied a little bit of Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse in medium sized sections. I really like this mousse, I'm typically not a big fan of mousse but this one is actually pretty good and I've been using it for quite a while now. You should definitely check it out.
How did you spend your holiday season?

Girl, the island life looks good on you - those pics are fab!!! ;-)

I spent my holiday in cold NY. But it was great - had two weeks off and spent it w/family and getting some MUCH needed rest.

Glad you're back. Can't wait for the new year entries. :-)

OMG!! Your hair is phenomenal. I love it!!! Do you have to re-wet your hair everyday? I'm an island girl at heart, and I understand how hard it was for you to leave paradise.

OMG! Your hair is beyond gorgeous! Love the volume! I'm glad you had a good time.

Being from the islands myself I know exactly what you're describing. It is so simple :) People are so genuine and carefree. You aren't so caught up with the "outside" world. *sigh* I miss it lol. Glad you had a great time!

you look beyond gorgeous. I was thinking about st.lucia for my honeymoon-it's the #1 destination for when you get married. Glad you had fun.

Thanks guys, I'm STILL trying to adjust! It's crazy how a short amount of time could have such a HUGE effect on me.
Hillerie- No I didn't re-wet it every day, I washed it only twice while I was there. At night, I slept w/ it piled high on my head in a loose ponytail. That probably helped create volume too (in addition to the humidity).

Happy new year! And I know how you feel, I just came back from Jamaica last week. It was so relaxing. I loved being able to walk over to the neighbors and call from the gate and talk with family and friends. That there was no Facebook or Twitter to distract me from living life and enjoying my family and the great weather. I would love to live there some day nothing is better than 75 degrees in winter! Glad you had a great holiday too!

Wes! How we've missed you girl! :)
God bless and thanks for sharing... Interestingly enough I am embarking on a new journey of holistic health (meaning being more cautious of what I eat and eating more raw, being in tune body/mind/spirit/soul/emotions). I am very nervous and excited. My body/mind/spirit is literally SCREAMING for it! Seeing your post and how calm you look just reminded me of that. Do you have family there? I'd love to take an island trip sometime this year and enjoy a local experience... That's why I asked. Wondering if you have to know someone there to do that...

Blessings sis,
Deborah Estelle

Since you love the Organix Coconut shampoo & conditioner, have you tried the Coconut mousse? If so, how does it compare to the Garnier? TIA
