Lash Love

Prior to my vacation I received a really great gift; a trip to the Courtney Akai Salon. Courtney does lash extensions (amongst other services) that are applied one lash at a time. You guys know how much I love long, dark lashes so this was definitely going to be a treat and I couldn't wait!

The day before I left I had an appointment with Courtney at 10am. I was so anxious- The entire procedure took 2 hours to complete. To start, your lower lids are taped down to prevent the lower lashes from adhering to the top lashes. Slightly uncomfortable, but a change of thoughts served me well. Your eyes remain closed for the next two hours while the lash extensions are meticulously adhered to your natural lash, one by one, lash by lash.

I will warn you though- the lashes will run you about $350, however the results are amazing and long lasting. Great for brides, vacation, and any other special event (next time I get them will probably be for my wedding!).

Here are the final results

Below are the results after 9 days of fun in the sun, ocean and sand!

At the airport, on my way home...

As you can see they're holding up well. I'm told they will last me about 2 months... I'll keep you posted!

Nice! That is pricey, but I guess worth it for two months. Always wanted falsies, but a bit afraid to try...

You are glowing and stunning!

BTW...Was that your subtle way of telling us you are engaged???

They do look great and I have been tempted a few times to do this, but was worried about damage to my real lashes. Keep us posted on how they fall off and what the end result is. Thanks!

Niiice! They look great on you!
With this you didn't really even need any mascara right? Does Courtney allow mascara on these? Let us know how you like them after the 2 months!

Welcome back!

Looks really nice Wes! Great tan too. Are you able to submerge your face in water with these?

Wes said...

@ Bonafide Latina: No you don't need any mascara and it's recommended that you don't use it on the false lashes... But you really don't need it.
@ Anon. 8:22am: YES! I wash my face and carry on as usual.
