Last Friday, I went to Duane Reade and picked up a box of L'Oreal Feria in Soft Black. I was supposed to see the stylist at Aveda for a touch up of my color the Friday before last but he was out sick. Once I found I'd have to reschedule my appointment, I knew that there was no way I was going to be able to hold onto that "hair money". With the changing of the seasons, I was going to go back to black by October anyways. So, I just rushed the process.
After coloring, I deep conditioned and then (for the first time in many months) did a roller set.
I forgot how much I love my dark hair. Kim K. better move over :-P

Really pretty!
gorgeous! i may want to dye my hair black once my TWA grows out...
hey wes...looks great! do you think you could do a roller set tutorial...i am in dire need of assistance.TIA!
it looks gorgeous! I actually used some cheap black dye which made my hair awful and actually was the one of the reasons why I went natural (that, plus I did it one week after a perm)I can't wait to try it again on my natural healthy hair!
Black definitely suits you! This is crazy, but: were you in NYC on August 7? I swear, I saw a person who looked just like you at Negril Village restaurant. The hair caught my eye ;) If it was you, your hair looked AWESOME. If it wasn't you, you have a twin in NYC!
How crazy that you went back to black this weekend....I did the exact same thing with the exact same color! I prefer myself with dark hair, but gave in to peer pressure to "lighten up for the summer".
Gorgeous!
So funny, I just picked up my black semi-permanent yesterday as well!
Even though I'm a darkest brown, naturally, the black really shines so I'm stickin' to it. :)
Keep it up, girlie!
You are so right. There is something about dark hair that is just so rich and gorgeous.
Your hair looks great!
@Theaccidentalnatural; Yes ma'am that was me! I live in the Bronx... Love Negril Village :-)
Beautiful! :)
Your black hair is UBER pretty!
Wes I love your hair - its wow!!!
@Wes: Love the restaurant! It was my first time going -- I was visiting from Toronto. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in NYC ;)
I have color in my hair from last year. They were honey blonde highlights. I want to dye it black but I'm afraid that the black mixed with the blonde will cause my hair to turn green in those areas. Were you able to just apply the color any be done with it?
It looks beautiful by the way.
Love It. I was thinking about going back to my childhood hair color(blue/black). I'm just worried about two things: 1. My skin looking washed out during the winter. 2. Having a change of mind after and dealing with the process of getting it lighter.
Soft and pretty! Kim K's enhanced "beauty" has nothing on your natural beauty!
I just dyed my locs blacks a month ago! Love it!
thanks for posting this..i wanted to color my hair but didn't know what to use..i have not colored my hair since being natural just henna'd it..but i want to go back to black too..i'm going to try this brand
Hi Wes love the new color! Please show us how u did your roller set! I'm unsuccessful in making my hair look smooth...thanks
The color looks great. After using henna alone all summer, I went back to using indigo for the fall. Dark hair is so luscious.
