My worst hair momemt was in the summer of 2006. I was newly dating a guy whom, at the time, I KNEW was Mr. Right.

I have always worn wigs/weaves to change up my style and he HATED wigs!

At the time though still natural, I'd dyed my hair to a caramel brown and it had golden blond streaks.

Well, Mr. Right felt that black women looked best with black hair (how stupid is that?) so after repeated comments about it, like an idiot I rinsed my hair... You guessed it, black! Only it didn't turn black but GREEN! Yes! Forest green! I was mortified. But rather go to the hair salon to fix it, I just bought a different brand of jet black and tried again. It got greener!

Luckily for me it was mostly in the middle so I hid it by wearing buns. It eventually wore off but I ended up getting a black weave for a while because the edges stayed black longer. I actually ended up enjoying my "black" stage but it's just not for me.

Moral of story? NEVER dye your hair for a man!!! And if you are so moved to dye go to a salon!

Needless to say I'm not with him anymore! LOL!

you know I experienced the exact same thing. I didnt know what to make of it. The following day I headed straight to my salon, unfortunately my regular stylist wasnt in that day so I spoke to the owner of the salon and showed her my hair strands and how easily they were snapping off. Her response was that my stylist perhaps didnt remove all of the chemical relaxer. She said she would re-wash it for me but would charge me the usual amount that it would normally cost to get a wash and blow. What a crock! Even after this happened to my hair I still didnt have the sense to realize that all those chemical relaxers were ruining the condition of my hair, that was back in 2003. Luckily, I have been chemical free and natural for a little over a year, and did the big chop last November 2008. Thank goodness.
